Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
