Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
