Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
