The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Mount Sinai, 1 And by oath of a passage, written – 2 in a parchment unrolled, 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 And [by] the heaven raised high 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 there is none to prevent it. 8 Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 On that Day when they shall be pitched into the Fire of Gehenna (Hell), 13 "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! 14 Is this magic? or ye still see not clearly! 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 (To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds." 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work; every man is responsible for what he shall have wrought. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 "Before this, when we were among our families, we were full of fear of God's displeasure -- 26 "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28
