The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 in an exposed parchment 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 And the swollen sea 6 Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass, 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Then woe that day unto the deniers 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Endure the heat thereof, and whether ye are patient of it or impatient of it is all one for you. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do. 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Rejoicing in that which their Lord hath vouchsafed unto them; and their Lord will protect them from the torment of the Flame. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 Reclining on thrones, in rows; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They will therein snatch from one another a cup; therein will be neither vain babble nor sin. 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. 25 They will say: "Behold, aforetime - when we were [still living] in the midst of our kith and kin - we were full of fear [at the thought of God's displeasure]: 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28
