Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' 31 Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? 32 Do they say, "He has falsely invented it (the Quran)?" In fact, they themselves have no faith. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Have they not been created by aught, or are they the creators? 35 Or is it they who created the heavens and the earth? No; the truth is that they lack sure faith. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Or has He only daughters and ye have sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him) 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 Wait patiently for the command of your Lord. We are watching over you. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49
