Therefore continue to give warning, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say: "(Muhammad SAW is) a poet! We await for him some calamity by time! 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Does their reasoning prompt them to this, or they are a people rebellious? 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or do they have any stairs, climbing upon which they eavesdrop? So their eavesdropper should bring some clear proof! 38 Or has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Or do they want to stage a deception? -- Then only those who do not believe will be the ones who will be tricked. 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 And if they should see a fragment of the heaven falling down, they would say: it is only clouds piled up. 44 So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror). 45 The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. 46 For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, 48 And for part of the night also praise thou Him,- and at the retreat of the stars! 49
