The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Star when it setteth, 1 Your companion hath not gone astray, nor hath he erred. 2 Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 He was taught by [an angel] who is mighty in power, 5 The Lord of Strength; so he attained completion, 6 while he was in the highest horizon; 7 Then he approached and came closer, 8 until he was two bows' length away, or nearer. 9 So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey. 10 His (Muhammad's) heart did not lie to him about what his eyes had seen. 11 What, will you dispute with him about what he sees! 12 And indeed he (Muhammad SAW) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time). 13 at the Lote Tree (Sidrat tree) of the ending 14 Close to which is the Garden of Tranquility, 15 When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote-tree, 16 Neither did sight falter nor exceed the bounds. 17 He certainly saw the greatest (signs) of the existence of his Lord. 18 So did you observe the idols Lat and Uzza? 19 and your third idol al-Manat (whom you considered as God's daughters)? 20 What! For you the son, and for Him the daughter? 21 This is certainly an unjust apportioning. 22 these are nothing but names which you yourselves have devised, you and your forefathers. God has sent down no authority for them. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own selves desire, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord! 23 Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after? 24 To Allah belong both the Next World and the present. 25
