The Stars (Al-Najm)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the star when it plunges, 1 your companion has neither strayed nor is he misguided, 2 nor does he speak out of his own desire. 3 This is naught but a revelation revealed, 4 He was taught by one Mighty in Power, 5 by the great mighty one (Gabriel), 6 being on the higher horizon. 7 Then he [Jibrael (Gabriel)] approached and came closer, 8 Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer, 9 so (Allah) revealed to His worshiper (Gabriel) that which he revealed (to Prophet Muhammad). 10 The [servant's] heart did not give the lie to what he saw: 11 Are you, then, going to contend with him regarding what he sees with his eyes? 12 And assuredly he saw him at another descent. 13 by the lote tree beyond which none may pass 14 Near it is the Garden of Abode. 15 When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote-tree, 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). 18 Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, 19 and, another, the third manat? 20 What! for you the male sex, and for Him, the female? 21 That were indeed an unjust division. 22 They are nothing but some names that you have coined, you and your forefathers – Allah has not sent any proof for them; they follow only guesses and their own desires; whereas the guidance from their Lord has come to them. 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 So (know that) Allah only is the Owner of all – the Hereafter and this world. 25
