Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 while you make merry? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
