Al-Najm 3 of 3
Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
