Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
