To the People of Pharaoh, too, aforetime, came Warners (from Allah). 41 They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability. 42 ARE, THEN, those of you who [now] deny the truth better than those others - or have you, perchance, [been promised] immunity in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom? 43 Or do they say: "We are a group united, [and therefore] bound to prevail"? 44 The army will be routed and put to flight. 45 Nay, but the Hour is their tryst, and the Hour is very calamitous and bitter. 46 The evil-doers are indeed sunk in error and folly -- 47 On the day when they shall be dragged upon their faces into the fire; taste the touch of hell. 48 Surely We have created everything according to a measure. 49 And Our Command is but a single (Act),- like the twinkling of an eye. 50 We have indeed destroyed many a people like you. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 51 All things they do are (recorded) in the books; 52 And every small and great thing is recorded. 53 Surely those who shun disobedience will dwell amidst Gardens and running streams 54 in a sure abode, in the presence of a King Omnipotent. 55
