And indeed, warnings came to the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) [through Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)]. 41 They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability. 42 Are your unbelievers (of Makkah) any better than they? Or have you been granted any immunity in the Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: 'We are a gathering that will be victorious' 44 [Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat]. 45 Nay, the Hour (of Judgment) is the time promised them (for their full recompense): And that Hour will be most grievous and most bitter. 46 Surely the sinners are misguided and insane. 47 On the day when they shall be dragged upon their faces into the fire; taste the touch of hell. 48 We have created everything to fulfill a certain purpose. 49 We command but once: Our will is done in the twinkling of an eye; 50 We have destroyed the likes of you in the past: So is there any one who will be warned? 51 All their deeds are in the Scrolls, 52 All things small or great have been written down. 53 The pious ones will live in Paradise wherein streams flow, 54 In an Assembly of Truth, in the Presence of a Sovereign Omnipotent. 55
