The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created the human being 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
