The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
