He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 You pay full attention, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 and fears (Allah), 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 Olives and dates, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
