The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
