The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O THOU [in thy solitude] enfolded! 1 arise and give warning! 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 And your clothing purify 4 And banish all trepidation. 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 and whom I have granted abundant wealth 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 I shall force him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked around, 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 and in the end he turns his back [on Our message,] and glories in his arrogance, 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 and it burns the flesh. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
