The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 has created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
