The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human being 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
