The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few of later ages, 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 facing one another. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 The Companions of the Right 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 and serried acacias, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 Gushing water, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 for the people of the right hand 38
