The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 and a few from later times. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
