The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 We have made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
