A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 And a numerous company from among the last. 40 But those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand -- 41 In scorching wind and scalding water 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 neither cool nor refreshing. 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and they persisted obstinately in awful sin, 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 Will our ancient forefathers be resurrected too? 48 (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations 49 Shall most surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day. 50 and then, verily, O you who have gone astray and called the truth a lie, 51 Will eat of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 and you shall fill therewith your bellies 53 "And drink Boiling Water on top of it: 54 And drink as drinks the thirsty camel. 55 This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. 56 We have created you, why do you not then assent? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 Do you yourselves create it, or are We the Creators? 59 We! it is We Who have decreed death unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. 60 That We may substitute others like unto you and produce you into that which ye know not. 61 You certainly knew about (your) first development. Why do you not take heed? 62 See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground? 63 Do you yourselves sow it, or are We the Sowers? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; 66 Rather, we have been prevented' 67 Have you thought about the water you drink? 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 Did you consider the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 73 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty. 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
