A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 And a company of the later peoples. 40 But those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand -- 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 Under the shadow of thick black smoke 43 neither cool, neither goodly; 44 Surely they were before that made to live in ease and plenty. 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 “And also our forefathers?” 48 Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times, 49 “They will all be gathered together – on the appointed time of the known day.” 50 Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, 51 will eat from the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, 53 And upon it, you will drink the hot boiling water. 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 Such will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement. 56 It is He who created you, then why do you not affirm the truth? 57 Have you ever considered that [seed] which you emit? 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 60 In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know. 61 And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam), why then do you not remember or take heed? 62 And have you seen that [seed] which you sow? 63 Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause? 64 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. 65 Verily we are undone. 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 See ye the water which ye drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds or We? 69 If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)? 70 Did you consider the fire which you kindle? 71 Did you produce the tree that serves as fuel or do We? 72 We have made it as a reminder and convenience for the needy. 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74
