▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ No! I swear by the fallings of the stars 75 And verily that is a mighty oath, if ye but knew! 76 that this indeed is a noble Qur'an, 77 In a book that is protected 78 which none but the pure may touch; 79 It is a revelation sent down from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Is it this discourse that ye hold lightly? 81 And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]? 82 Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying) 83 And ye the while (sit) looking on,- 84 We are closer to him than you, even though you cannot see? 85 Wherefore then, if ye are not to be requited 86 Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)? 87 Then if he be of the broughtnigh. 88 (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights. 89 and if he is of those who are on the Right, 90 he will be greeted with, "Peace be to you," by those on the Right. 91 But if he be of them that cried lies, and went astray, 92 there shall be a hospitality of boiling water, 93 And the roasting in Hell. 94 Lo! this is certain truth. 95 Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 96
