Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent - 1 Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; 2 The One Who created the seven heavens atop each other; do you see any discrepancy in the creation of the Most Gracious? Therefore lift your gaze – do you see any cracks? 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?" 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 They will then confess their sins: but far will be (Forgiveness) from the Companions of the Blazing Fire! 11 Surely those who fear their Lord in the Unseen -- there awaits them forgiveness and a great wage. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware. 14
