Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things, 1 It is He who has created death and life to put you to the test and see which of you is most virtuous in your deeds. He is Majestic and All-forgiving. 2 Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame. 5 The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! 6 When they will be cast into it, they will hear it roar as it boils, 7 Well-nigh it bursteth with rage. So oft as a company is cast thereinto, the keepers thereof will ask them: came there not unto you a warner? 8 They will say: “Yes, a warner came to us, but we gave the lie to him and said: 'Allah has revealed nothing. You are surely in huge error.' 9 And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames. 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). 13 Can He who has created not know (His creation)? He is all-penetrating, all-aware. 14
