Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 in an exalted garden 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
