Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
