Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a Garden on high, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 and no food except pus 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
