Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
