Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In a high garden 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
