The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
44 verses, revealed in Mecca after Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah) before The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
AN INQUIRER ASKED for the affliction that is to come 1 The Unbelievers, the which there is none to ward off,- 2 (A Penalty) from Allah, Lord of the Ways of Ascent. 3 by which the angels and the Spirit ascend to Him in one Day the duration of which is fifty thousand years. 4 (Muhammad), exercise patience with no complaints. 5 Lo! they behold it afar off 6 but, We see it as near! 7 On the day when the heavens become like molten metal. 8 And the hills will be light as wool. 9 And no friend will ask concerning his friend. 10 They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children 11 and of his spouse, and of his brother, 12 the kinsmen who gave him shelter, 13 And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him. 14 Never! That is indeed a blazing fire. 15 Taking away (burning completely) the head skin! 16 It shall claim him who turned and fled (from truth), 17 And collect (wealth) and hide it (from use)! 18 ۞ Indeed, mankind was created anxious: 19 when evil visits him, impatient, 20 And niggardly when good reaches him;- 21 Not so those devoted to Prayer;- 22 Those who are constant in their prayer 23 and those in whose wealth there is a known right 24 for the needy and the deprived, 25 And those who believe in the Day of Recompense 26 And those who fear the punishment of their Lord. 27 for none may ever feel secure from the punishment of their Lord; 28 who guard their carnal desires 29 Save with their wives and those whom their right hands possess, for thus they are not blameworthy; 30 But those who seek more than this will be transgressors; 31 And those who keep their pledges and their covenant, 32 who testify to what they have witnessed, 33 and who are constant in their prayers. 34 They will be honoured in the Gardens of Bliss. 35

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
توجد تمارين تحفيظ للوضعين العربي الأصلي والعربي المخطوط بأحرف إنجليزية فقط. ولا تحتوي الترجمة الإنجليزية على تمارين حفظ.
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
