WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 from the right and from the left, in crowds? 37 Does everyone of them wish to enter the Garden of Bliss? 38 Nay, verily. Lo! We created them from what they know. 39 I swear by the Lord of the easts and the wests, that, verily We are Able. 40 to replace them by a better people and none can challenge Our power. 41 So leave them to plunge in vain talk and play about, until they meet their Day which they are promised. 42 the Day when they rush out of their graves as if racing towards a signpost, 43 with downcast eyes, with ignominy overwhelming them: that Day which they were promised again and again 44
