Noah (Nooh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah forth to his people, saying, "Warn your people before there comes upon them a grievous punishment." 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew. 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 And I told them: 'Ask your Lord to forgive you. He is verily forgiving. 10 'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 "'What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah,- 13 And surely He hath created you by stages. 14 Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other, 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 And afterward He maketh you return thereto, and He will bring you forth again, a (new) forthbringing. 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 ‘So that you may tread the wide roads in it.’” 20
