Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Say thou: it hath been revealed unto me that a company of the jinn listened, and said, verily we have listened to a Recitation wondrous. 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss or being subjected to any injustice”; 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 ‘And that the mosques are for Allah only – therefore do not worship anyone along with Allah.’ 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
