The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn, 2 proclaim the greatness of your Lord, 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 stay away from sins 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 And for the good-will of thy Lord be thou patient. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 and children living in his presence, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 Nay, verily, it is against Our messages that he knowingly, stubbornly sets himself 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 May he be condemned! 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 Then looked he, 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 and it burns the flesh. 29 Above it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
