The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 arise, and warn! 2 And your Lord glorify 3 and purify your robes, 4 And stay away from idols. 5 And do not favour others in order to receive more. 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And children to be by his side! 13 And made things easy for them. 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what knoweth thou that which the Scorching Fire? 27 It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; 28 and it burns the flesh. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31
