The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O thou shrouded in thy mantle, 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 proclaim the greatness of your Lord, 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 And stay away from idols. 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allah)! 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day. 9 and for the disbelievers, in particular, it will not be at all easy. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 and who still greedily desires that I should bestow upon him more. 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 and in the end he turns his back [on Our message,] and glories in his arrogance, 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 This is naught else than speech of mortal man. 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 And what could make thee conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
