Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
