Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
