Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
