Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
