Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
