Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
