Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
