Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
