Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
